English 2 - Begin Ender's Game

Today was a very disappointing day in English 2.  We read AR books for the first 15 minutes, after which I was planning to begin Ender's Game, the novel for this grading period.  I had assigned last Thursday that students read the first 3 chapters and answer a few comprehension questions.  Only one person decided to take me at my word.  With that, I gave the class time to either read the book or work on the questions.  Only a few did.  It was a shorter school day for the students, and therefore most of them assumed that it was a free day.  Tomorrow, hopefully a few more will have the work done and we will get going with the book.
